I think the coils are open, i remember Bobilini & 74 arguing that 74 changed it to open coils in chinese so his brother could run one, & so on, i think there open?

Dakka, I have not put a big bore kit on it - i bought the bike off of frenchy i think. I haven't taken the head off it yet to measure it but it may possibly be a chinese full 50cc (not 46.5 or whatever that big bore kit has) that comes stock on some b1 reps. As i have said i haven't taken the head off to check this - i'm lazy and go by the rule if it ain't broke - don't fix it! I have seen another b1 with this 50cc head before and the big bore piston was too small. Mine has 'chaosjing' or something similar stamped into side of barrel same as his does and has the banshee radiator as standard. Sol could verify these points i make.

But you are right, my bike currently is not stock as it has a 19mm carby on it, which i would have to change back. On this point, not knowing a hell of a lot about carby's, if i run a 14/14 sha, is that smaller then the maximum 15mm carby that you can run on a stock a/c?????

However, I recently found out that i will be made redundant soonish, so my racing next year will rely on the next jobs income and availability to race. The worst bit about it was that the company i work for had agreed to give me about $2k per year in sponsorship too. So i'll have to see how things pan out, but still keen.

Anyways,

Merry Christmas

Stu

Funny that quite a few people run blata reps with stock flywheel and blata coil!

I tried a BZM coil, didn't work. To my knowledge genuine flywheel is needed to run euro coils.

I have one on my bike with chinese flywheel! The coils are basically the same, ie pick ups are same distance apart. not enough room here to explain it out, but yes if you do not know what your doning then you can have problems(setting timing etc). Also I agree with Al about the rule it is just that it was not in the rule book! Lastly it looks like chinese class will just be an Elite class with chinese frame so much for keeping it cheap.
