Howdy, now both my bikes are all done i want to start tuning the carbs proper.

The main jet tuning im fine with (plug chops etc) but not sure how to go about tuning the idle and progression circuits..

This is how im doing it so far so if anyone can tell me how to do it properly that would be great Very Happy

IDLE TUNING - get it to idle consistently then crack the throttle open a little bit and adjust the idle mix (or air mix whatever it is) until it comes back to idle the fastest. it seems if you advance the needle too much it will just never come back down from idle for about 10 seconds (too lean?) or just dies as you back off the throttle if the needle is wound out (too rich?)

PROGRESSION - no idea what to check for except seeing how fast it builds revs... but id assume youd be changing the clip needle on the slide to adjust this.

TOP END - just changing jets until it sounds the best with the least surging and the like then did a plug chop and checked it

i think both my carbs are way off as the GP3 will rev up amazingly fast but coming back down to idle speed is erratic (can come down off idle quickly or take ages) yet idle itself is consistent and smooth..

the dreambike however is very boggy coming off idle. if you rev it to bring the revs up it will do so very slowly (or seems to rev up a little - stop then rev again) but if you rev it straight after it seems to be very responsive.

both the bikes start first pull and idle perfect, and top end is okay as well. just seems to be the progession side of things..

need help Crying or Very sad or if theres a comprehensive guide somewhere that would be sweet. all other forum guides seem, to be pretty vague and for cag related stuff.
